Preaching about poor folk being used by the rich Talk about fucking pandering. So am I alone in misunderstanding the speech they use? I always thought it meant that a rebellion was required that would stop the machine due to the amount of crushed bodies of those sacrificing themselves to jam the parts.

We need this kind of song on the radio. We need this on repeat until the damn sheeps wakes up. Son of Man? I'm still here? Angry and hacked off I took this song and played it on heavy rotation Calm as a meditator I began my live anew.

Some songs act as ladders from darkness to light - for me this is one such song First heard this in ea sports mma and loved it ever since you legend Chester you. So many people praising the bass on this song. Phoenix must be a bass god, because he achieved this without a bass guitar :D The "bass" only appears in heavier parts, and it is actually a synth. Most people don't know that, I wasn't sure myself before hearing the multitracks.

In combination with the guitar part it sounds super badass. It's definitely one of my most favorite things on this amazing album. Miss you chester man Sorry for ruining the comment section, but Youtube, I have a question Are you above the law?

I feel like if a person doesn't at least once in awhile break the law, the law broke them. Because the law isn't our morals, right? If I feel like I have to choose between my own interests, the interest of others, my morals, and the law.. The law will always come first, so does that mean I'm above the law?

This song is sooooo freaking badass that it puts point of authority in very strong competition. Realstate Owner. Register Don't have an account? Wretches and Kings. Edit source History Talk 0. Lyrics [ ] "There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part.

And you've got to make it stop. You must start what you want to change. I believe Mike's raps is the ruler talking down to those whom he over rules. The chorus I believe is Chester is the people who were ruled over by these kings. The wretches is what they refer to the king as. And you've got to indicate to the people, run in to the people on it. And unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!

And if you don't stand up and get others to stand up the machine overthrowing the wretches kings then you are going to have to live under the wretches' rule. From my point of view, I believe this song is about the citizens of a society doing all the work while their King sits back and controls the whole place. The Intro of this song reminds me of obviously states that the "machine" must be stopped by aka.

Just my personal opinion, yours could be completely different. The song doesnt say "Wretches, we come for you King" In my opinion, I think they are referring to Wretches as the working man and Kings as the upper class or "Rich" people.

The whole speach at the beginning is about freedom and that unless the people who are being ruled are "free" the machine, in this case, the government, will be prevented from working. This song is about the current political climate. The government has grown too large and is actually invading the lives of the people they are supposed to be serving.

If we want the corruption to stop, if we want the government usurption of power to end, WE, the people, must stand up and fight for our rights. It's not about class warfare anymore And that is what I think this song is about This is about "genetic superiority" on the part of the elites.

He refers to us as the animals as a way to mock the elites' view of us. Due to this elitist mentality we the " animals" are enslaved through corporations, with money, false home ownership, media brainwashing, etc. However if we come together to claim our proper place in a free society we will avoid the tyranny of the machine Genetic engineering of Aryan race has been the goal of these secret societies dealings with demonic or alien entities.

Ancients called them nephilim or different variations as with the Giants in legends. The first thing which comes in our mind while listening to this song is that the things which are affecting the lives of the whole world i. This is a revolutionary song telling people not to ignore whats happening around them and to accept it and finally stand up for what they believe in! It can't be Done alone!
